In regions with a very low incidence and a high vaccination rate, the mask requirement could gradually be lifted indoors.
"As a recommendation, there is always a simple rule: if in doubt, wear a mask - especially when traveling and when meeting indoors," said the Minister of Health.

Previously, Bundestag Vice President Wolfgang Kubicki (FDP) had called for a complete end to the mask requirement.
