Freising
- A serious accident occurred on Monday afternoon on Ottostraße in Freising - and caused a traffic jam in rush hour traffic.
A cyclist caused a rear-end collision in which three people were injured.
The cyclist herself fled.
Witnesses are now being sought.
19-year-old realized the situation too late
As the police report, a Freising woman was on her way from the train station to the district office in her Opel Zafira at around 4:25 p.m.
At the pedestrian ford at Fürstendamm, the 57-year-old braked to a standstill because a previously unknown female cyclist crossed the lane.
A 19-year-old who was driving behind the 57-year-old realized the situation too late and drove into the car in front of her.
In order to save the Opel driver, the volunteer fire brigade Freising had to come with rescue spreader and scissors and remove two vehicle doors and the B-pillar.
In the meantime, Ottostraße had to be completely closed.
Police are looking for witnesses to the accident
The two drivers and the 19-year-old's co-driver came with the ambulance to the Freising Clinic, slightly injured.
The Freising fire brigade, which was on site with four vehicles and 18 people, cleaned the lane and helped direct the traffic until the two cars involved in the accident were recovered.
In the western part of the city there were therefore significant traffic obstructions until 7 p.m.
The police estimate the total damage to be around 14,000 euros.
Because the cyclist who, according to the current state of investigation, helped to cause the accident, continued her journey unimpressed, people are now being sought who can provide information about the cyclist and how the accident happened.
