Cannes 2021: Andrea Arnold to chair the Un certain regard selection

The British director, who won a third jury prize in 2016 with American Honey, will lead the jury made up of filmmakers Mounia Meddour, Daniel Burman, Michael Covino and Elsa Zylberstein.


Andrea Arnold is one of the regulars at the Croisette.

Triple awarded the jury prize for her feature films

Red Road

(2006),

Fish Tank

American Honey

(2016), member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival in 2012, head of the jury for the Semaine de la critic, in 2014, the British director returns, for this 74th edition which will be held from July 6 to 17, once again in the role of decision maker.

She will chair the Un certain regard selection, accompanied by filmmakers Mounia Meddour, Daniel Burman, Michael Covino and actress Elsa Zylberstein, to determine the winner among the twenty works in competition.

Recognized worldwide for her realistic films with a social dimension, Andrea Arnold made a remarkable debut in the short film, notably with
