The firefighting teams in Homs governorate put out a fire that affected agricultural crops in the town of Al-Suwayri in the western Homs countryside.

Brigadier General Ghiath Akil, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the branch’s operations room received a report at dawn today about a fire at the “Bayader” agricultural crops collection site in the town of Al-Suwayri. The wind prevented this and made the fire spread before they could control it and put it out in the morning.

Akil indicated that the firefighting personnel are currently carrying out cooling operations to prevent it from recurring, pointing out that the fire affected five bays of wheat, barley and pepper crops.
