The Center for Health Protection said today (15th) that it was notified by the Guangdong Provincial Health Authority last night (14th) that a 38-year-old woman from Hong Kong, who was quarantined in Huizhou City, tested positive for the new crown virus.

The Centre for Health Protection stated that after checking the records, it was found that the patient was one of the confirmed patients announced in Hong Kong in mid-February.

The patient is not a Hong Kong resident

The epidemiological investigation of the center showed that the patient was a locally confirmed case (case number 10813) announced on February 17 and was tested positive for the new coronavirus at the mobile sampling station.

Checking the information, the patient is a case of unknown origin and asymptomatic, not a Hong Kong resident.

After being admitted to the hospital for treatment, the patient recovered and was discharged on February 21. He then returned to the mainland via the Shenzhen Bay Port on May 31 and was tested positive during local isolation and quarantine.

The center is continuing to follow up with the Guangdong Provincial Health Authority and conduct epidemiological investigations on the case.

A total of 37 cases were reported in the past 14 days (June 1-14), including three local cases, one of which is of unknown origin.
