Beaming faces under a beaming sky: the winners of the “Most Beautiful Organic Experience Days 2020” were chosen at the farm kindergarten.

Olching - Since 2001, the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Association for Organic Farming (LVÖ) have been organizing the adventure days, during which you can experience everything to do with organic food up close.

For the hosts of the celebration, the Becker family from Olching, not only was the celebration a premiere: their farm kindergarten itself received an award in the “Special Education Prize” category.

Last year, Friederike Becker and her husband, with their farm and kindergarten, took part in the organic adventure days for the first time. Young and old were able to experience what life on a farm looks like for an afternoon. “We showed them domestic animals that are threatened with extinction, such as our forest sheep,” explains social worker Marina Kinzel. Children could practice milking with the help of a wooden cow. At another stand, visitors to the farm learned something about the cultivation of organic vegetables and were able to marvel at and touch the farm's own harvest products such as cucumber, potatoes and tomatoes. "It was a mixture of looking, informing and experiencing," reports supervisor Kinzel.

Kindergarten director and farm owner Friederike Becker decided to take part in the organic adventure days last year.

"It was a lot of work for us, especially under the Corona conditions." But it was worth it.

And this year the farm will take part again.

In the shade of the large birch trees in the courtyard, Wolfgang Wintzer, Ecologist at the State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forests (StMELF), presented the certificates to six award winners from Bavaria.

Wintzer represented Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber, who was unable to attend due to illness.

The speaker addressed the award winners on behalf of Kaniber: "With a lot of passion, heart and soul and unbelievably great events, you have managed to get the local people excited about our local organic farming."

Wintzer praised the companies taking part in the organic experience days for having set up various organic campaigns despite the pandemic. “Eco must be in the hearts of producers and, above all, consumers,” said Wintzer to the guests, including District Administrator Thomas Karmasin, members of the Bundestag Hans Friedl and Benjamin Miskowitsch and Olching's Mayor Andreas Magg. The Bavarian organic queen Annalena I., Hubert Heigl, chairman of the LVÖ and Wolfgang Wintzer presented the certificates.
