Paris: new giant evening at the Tuileries garden, the police evacuate for the third night in a row

Several hundred people gathered between the Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. They were evacuated by police shortly after midnight without major incidents.


Since Friday, June 11, giant nocturnal parties have followed one another in the heart of Paris, thanks to the summer heat and the many messages posted on social networks.

Once again, several hundred people gathered on the night of Monday 14 to Tuesday 15 June, in the Tuileries garden, the Carrousel garden and the Place du Louvre, according to the Paris police headquarters.

The participants gathered to sing, drink and dance, without great respect for barrier gestures, as seen in the images published on social networks.

Around midnight thirty, the police intervened to put an end to this wild party.

The revelers were dispersed without any particular incident.

One person was nevertheless arrested for contempt and rebellion.

The curfew at 11 p.m. and the ban on gatherings of more than ten people still apply.

However, as of Friday evening, more than a thousand young people had gathered to party on the lawn of the Invalides, without mask or respect for barrier gestures.

Calls had been made on social networks for a type evening "Project X" - named after the American film released in 2012 in which teenagers organize a party that is completely out of their control.

A more difficult intervention on Saturday

If there were no arrests or injuries on Friday or Saturday, the police headquarters announced at 10 p.m. an intervention at the Invalides "

to disperse gatherings of people not respecting barrier gestures

", one hour before the curfew .

According to images posted on social networks, projectiles were thrown at the police - who used tear gas during the intervention - and a vehicle was damaged.

The evening on the Esplanade des Invalides finally gave rise to four arrests.

Other festive gatherings took place in the capital during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Around midnight, the police intervened in the Tino-Rossi square, in the 5th arrondissement, where there were some 250 people.

Around 2 a.m. also, 200 to 300 people present in the Carrousel garden, near the Louvre, had to be evacuated by the police.

Finally, a new evening was evacuated on Sunday evening, this time in the Tuileries Garden.

200 people gathered despite the curfew and the end of the weekend.

The revelers will they meet this evening, on the occasion of the first match of the France team at Euro football?

Police will apply

"a tolerance for people returning home

" at the end of the match after the curfew.
