Portugal has eased its corona restrictions a little.
On top of that, an island is no longer considered a risk area.

Portugal is particularly popular with holidaymakers because of the Algarve, but also the capital Lisbon.
In the meantime, however, the country had to struggle extremely with the corona pandemic - a situation that has now improved.

no longer a risk area.
Recently the government also relaxed the entry rules.

The previous requirement to submit a negative PCR test has been lifted by a resolution of the Portuguese Council of Ministers.
As a result, holidaymakers can
now travel to Portugal with valid antigen rapid tests
.
It must not be older than 24 hours at check-in at home.
Entry with the PCR test is also still allowed - it must not be older than 72 hours.
There are no quarantine regulations for people entering from Germany.
If you come to Portugal by air, you have to make an electronic travel registration - the Passenger Location Card.
In addition, the body temperature of all air travelers is measured.
Apart from that, travelers to Portugal can be pleased that most of the country
is no longer classified as a risk area
.
This means that you do not have to report when you return to Germany.
However, a negative test is still required if the travelers arrive by plane and have no proof of complete vaccination or recovery.

Portugal vacation: what rules apply to Madeira and the Azores
It should also be noted that the
autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores have set their own corona measures
. If you want to go to Madeira, for example, you have to fill out a special online form for Madeira and submit a negative PCR test that is not older than 72 hours. There are exceptions to the compulsory test for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.
The Azores are also required to fill out a questionnaire 72 hours before departure, from which a barcode is generated.
When entering the country by plane, a negative PCR test that is not older than 72 hours is also required.
There are currently no exceptions to the compulsory test for vaccinated and convalescent people - only for children under twelve years of age.
For a longer stay, further corona tests are required on both the sixth and twelfth day after entry.
Since the Azores are still a risk area, you are required to report and test when you return to Germany.
