, DER SPIEGEL is now offering an audio subscription with new premium content.
Audio + combines exclusive podcasts - SPIEGEL Daily, SPIEGEL History, SPIEGEL Coaching and the »Your SPIEGEL« podcast - as well as a sound version of the weekly magazine.
In the SPIEGEL app you will find our new offer in the audio library, including playlist and offline functions and of course with all freely available SPIEGEL podcasts.
Why is there Audio +?
We are convinced that with Audio + we have put together a clever, useful and worth listening offer of plus podcasts and audio content, and with the audio library and the extensions in the app, we are fulfilling a desire that users have repeatedly expressed.
I have already heard SPIEGEL podcasts - will anything change for me?
You can still find all audio content, plus podcasts and free podcasts at spiegel.de/audio.
In the SPIEGEL app, you can navigate under »Audio« or click the audio icon at the bottom of the screen to access the SPIEGEL audio offering.
The articles in the weekly magazine that are set to music will no longer appear as a separate audio article, but in the respective article at SPIEGEL.de.
There is a new central page on which all issues of the magazines that have been set to music are clearly displayed.
You can find the new audio edition overview here.
In addition, the articles that have been set to music are marked with a listen icon in the magazine archive.

Where can I find the current issue of the magazine with audio?
In the audio library at spiegel.de/audio you will find the current edition of the weekly magazine with music: always prominently at the top of the audio library.

Which app do I need as a subscriber: open in?
The »DER SPIEGEL - Nachrichten« app is now sufficient to use the audio library including playlist and offline functions as well as the content of your Audio + subscription.
There you will find the Audio + offer as well as all free podcasts.
Is there an offline function for audio content and podcasts?
Yes.
In the SPIEGEL app, you can download all audio content and podcasts from your playlist and listen to them offline.
Within your playlist you have the function »Load audios and listen offline«. If you activate this, all audio content and podcasts in the playlist will be downloaded automatically.
Played audio content and podcasts are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
What will change for me as a SPIEGEL + subscriber: in?
As a SPIEGEL + subscriber, you can now access all of the Audio + content for 12 months in addition to the SPIEGEL + articles.
From July 2022, Audio + can be booked in addition to SPIEGEL + for 2.99 euros per month, without SPIEGEL + it costs 14.99 euros per month.
Audio + can be canceled on a monthly basis at any time.
