The municipality of Egenhofen could build an apartment building in the Poigern building area.

There is still space.

The local council now discussed this idea.

Egenhofen

- The first plots in the Poigern development area have already been allocated or are in the process of being processed.

The other plots are to follow.

But in the middle of the building area there is still some leeway with regard to the division of the plots.

A larger structure can be located there, as Mayor Martin Obermeier (NLE) said in the local council.

What is certain is that the municipal council wants to create more affordable living space or apartments in the entire municipality.

This is what he made a point of at his first closed conference.

A step in this direction could be taken in the Poigern building area.

That is why the responsible architect has now proposed two parcels on which an apartment building could be built - by the municipality itself.

The tight budget situation could be improved in the long term through the rental income.

In addition, such construction projects are currently heavily subsidized by the Free State - with up to 30 percent of the construction costs.

And there are cheap loans too.

However, the condition for funding is that the municipality must remain the owner of the building for 20 years.

In addition, the apartments should be for low-income households.

The two options for the multi-family house each have a plot size of 745 square meters.

The areas are on the east side of the county road.

A house with a floor area of 176 square meters is planned.

Six apartments with a living space of 58 square meters could be accommodated in it.

High prices currently

At the meeting, the administration wanted the council to make a fundamental decision as to whether the construction of such an apartment building should be welcomed and whether it should be pursued further.

Anton Kiser (CSU) found it basically good to build as a community and to keep plots free.

However, the current point in time is questionable given the current high prices in the construction industry.

"It would be more important to bring the other properties into the local model."

Andreas Rieder (BGE) would prefer construction by a housing association.

He also thinks that a plot of land near the children's home in Egenhofen would be more suitable for the apartment building.

There would not be the problem of too few parking spaces.

Bettina Zacherl (BVA) and Michal Kellerer (CSU) also found Poigern unfavorable because of this.

For Christoph Wilhelm (NLE) the construction would only come into question with an underground car park, but “the reason is actually too good for it”.

Ursula Hackl (BGE) brought a completely different aspect into play.

Poigern is overwhelmed with the many new residents due to the building area.

You don't have to generate even more residents through an apartment building.

"Have we ever thought about what to do with all the children?" She asked.

The public transport connection to places with secondary schools is modest in Poigern.

The main town would be better.

Because of the property in Egenhofen, one generally has to think about an overall concept, said the mayor.

A senior center could also be integrated there.

Ultimately, no decision was made.

Instead, the municipal council wants to discuss the construction of an apartment building - with or without funding - and possible locations at a closed meeting.

This should take place before the summer break.
