A 35-year-old from Murnau had to stop with her car at the red traffic lights on Weindorfer Strasse / Weilheimer Strasse.
Meanwhile, according to the police, smoke was coming out of the ventilation outlets.
The woman got out of her vehicle and about three to four minutes later the car went up in flames on its own.
Although the local volunteer fire brigade with twelve people was quickly on the spot, the car burned out completely.
Only the metal framework remained.
At the Reschkreuzung, a main traffic junction in Murnau, there was a traffic jam.
Forces of the police and the fire brigade took over the traffic control.
The cause of the fire is currently unclear.
There was damage of around 3000 euros.
