In support of the wounded of the Syrian Arab Army and thalassemia patients, the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Department of the Blood Bank in Damascus and the General Authority of the Martyr Mamdouh Abaza Hospital in Quneitra, organized a blood donation campaign.

The campaign participants stressed that donating blood is a national and humanitarian duty, and it enhances and supports the hospital in the continuity of its work and the provision of medical and health services to patients, and it comes as an expression of the Syrians’ standing with their army.

The director of Martyr Mamdouh Abaza Hospital, Dr. Hassan Arsan, said in a statement to SANA reporter that today’s campaign contributes to providing blood samples to the hospital, which helps in providing them to the wounded heroes of our armed forces and to thalassemia patients inmates in the hospital instead of transferring them to Damascus hospitals to take the blood samples they need, and thus alleviate the trouble of traveling on them.

Civil activities and donors from the students of the faculties of Damascus University, Quneitra branch, and employees of a number of districts participated in the campaign.
