At the Elysee Palace, Emmanuel Macron's tribute to the “sense of the State” of Édouard Philippe

. The few dozen guests who were present late Tuesday morning at the Elysee Palace appreciated

"a special moment of complicity"

between Emmanuel Macron and Edouard Philippe, reports one of them. The President of the Republic presented his former Prime Minister with the insignia of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor, as tradition dictates after two years in Matignon.

The head of state paid tribute at length to the former head of government, who has again become mayor of Le Havre since he left his office in the executive in July.

In front of the wife, three children, mother and sister of Édouard Philippe, as well as an audience of political figures and relatives of the former prime minister, Emmanuel Macron returned to the Norman's family origins, his childhood, his years in Germany.

The President of the Republic then mentioned his visit to Matignon, praising
