Brunnthal

- The council passed a fundamental decision at the request of the CSU in its most recent meeting with an 18: 1 majority.

Only Christine Zietsch (SPD) did not agree.

An initially fixed maximum funding amount of 11,000 euros and up to 1,000 euros for individual funding per business is planned.

The fine-tuning should take place at a "round table" with local restaurateurs.

Local restaurateurs show interest

A survey by the Society for Packaging Market Research shows that around 230,000 tonnes of waste in the form of disposable tableware and packaging for immediate consumption were generated in Germany alone in 2017. There are currently no more recent case numbers. “But the trend is clearly upwards, and the trend towards more food deliveries has exacerbated this situation in Brunnthal as well,” emphasized Mayor Stefan Kern (CSU).

During the first discussions, the local restaurateurs indicated that they were “definitely interested”.

Andreas Langner (CSU) emphasized that even if you could just bring the village shop or the inns on board and convince them of the common concept, "a lot has been gained".

Christine Zietsch / (SPD) was less convinced.

In itself the whole thing is a sensible thing.

"But if those who cause the most rubbish don't take part," she emphasized with a view to the fast food chains, the point should be questioned.

The more reusable, the more funding

The Greens in the Council, however, raised their thumbs. It should be considered, however, to bring delivery services such as Lieferando on board. Jürgen Gott (UBW) doubted that the burger chains should be “attracted” in view of subsidies in the three- and four-digit range. But he did not want to withhold his vote for the advance. "The more reusable, the more funding," said Kern, describing the concept, which should be capped in total, with clear requirements and an obligation to provide evidence for those willing to provide funding. On the basis of the funding guidelines, a municipal assumption of costs for the reusable conversion of up to 80 percent should take place.
