Who among us does not fantasize about the pillow in his bed after a grueling day? But if you do not feel comfortable with your pillow and it makes your neck ache - maybe it's time to replace it. How do we know for sure? At the level of principle the recommendation is to change a pillow every two to three years, but there are ways to check if your pillow has already expired.
Sleep and bedding experts have unveiled two methods to help you check if it's time to throw away your pillow and buy a new one. The first test is called the "saddle test" (or folding test) and to apply it you need to put the pillow on your arm. If you manage to fold the pillow into two parts with the help of the arm, like a saddle, then it turns out that you need a new pillow. If you can not fold it easily - then the pillow can continue to be used with you.
The second test, called the "stress test", is also very simple.
To know if your pillow is already worn, place it on a hard surface like a floor or table and just press in the middle of the pillow to try to fold it for 30 seconds.
If the pillow comes back to itself and bounces after you remove the hand from it - then it is still in good condition.
But if she's stressed out - you really need to get rid of her.

Lifestyle priestess Chantel Mila suggested another method for checking the validity of the pillow - the "jump" test, which is a kind of combination of the two previous tests.
She explained that in order to do it, the pillow should be folded in half on a flat surface and held folded for 30 seconds.
"Fresh" pillows should jump back to their natural state as soon as you leave them, she explained.
If your pillow does not pop back - this is a sign that it is time to invest in a new pillow.
