Ingenried

- In Ingenried there are also the so-called "Eh-da-areas", ie areas that are available anyway and are not subject to a specific agricultural use. They can be found in the open landscape, but also in the settlement area. "Very often there are infrastructure-accompanying areas such as roadsides, traffic islands or areas in front of buildings and houses that are rarely used and rarely or not at all maintained," says Ingenried's mayor Georg Saur.

After the municipality of Ingenried also had such properties, flowering areas were created in cooperation with the Ingenried Horticultural Association.

In several hours of work, the topsoil was milled, chopped by hand, the grass was removed and a fine soil structure was created with a rake.

Certified wild plant seeds were sown, specifically adapted to the local climate and soil conditions.

“Half of the proportion of wildflowers and wild grasses is chosen,” continues Saur.

The mixture was stretched with GMO-free meal as a filler.

"The brightly blooming, very species-rich flower meadow with low to tall-growing species is made up of 38 wild flowers and 15 wild grasses," continues the town hall chief.

The areas in front of the parish hall and in front of the Brugger property as well as on the two traffic islands in Burggener Straße with a total area of 150 square meters were sown.

Further sowings take place in autumn.

The community would like to thank the horticultural association for their voluntary commitment and cooperation.

Special thanks to Steffi Schweiger, Monika Edelmann and the community worker Josef Fischer ”, so Saur's closing words.
