The so-called "March of the flags", called by the most nationalist right in Israel, went through the eastern side of Jerusalem without serious acts of violence.
The march took place amid high security measures, since for the Palestinians the protest was a confrontation.
Analysts say that Egypt's role in international negotiations helped the march not reach a military escalation of the proportions that the area experienced in May.
