Nothing works without election workers: It is all the more difficult that you can hardly find any.
Therefore, the municipality of Lenggries is now increasing the allowance.
Lenggries
- A new Bundestag will be elected on September 26th.
Elections also mean a lot of work for all municipalities, after all, voting booths have to be manned all day and the votes cast have to be counted in the evening.
You need helpers for that.
"Unfortunately, especially in times of Corona, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find election workers," said managing official Tobias Riesch in the most recent Lenggries municipal council meeting.
This is also due to the fact that "in some cases the public employers are significantly reducing the time allowances previously granted," said Riesch.
Inquiries are therefore more and more often rejected by potential helpers.
In the surrounding area, some communities respond with a significantly higher refreshment fee in order to attract at least some interested parties.
"Some pay over 100 euros."
You have not yet arrived in Lenggries.
For a long time there was 35 euros for the helper service in elections.
In the state elections in 2018, the amount was increased to 40 euros.
Since the cost of local elections is significantly higher due to the large number of votes to be counted, the main committee increased the refreshment allowance to 50 euros last year.
And this amount should now - according to the decision of the municipal council - also receive helpers in the federal election.
There are also drinks and a small snack.
