With the participation of 34 plastic artists, the Spring 2021 exhibition opened today under the title “Hope for Creativity,” which is being held by the Aleppo Branch of the Union of Fine Artists at Al-Assad Gallery for Fine Arts.

The exhibition, which included sculptural works and oil paintings from different schools of art, was talked about by Ibrahim Daoud, head of the exhibitions committee in the Aleppo branch of the Union of Plastic Artists, as expressing the state of détente after the war on Syria, while Jaber Al-Sajour, director of Aleppo culture, described it as a message, stressing that Aleppo is a city for the birth of art, despite what It was subjected to systematic destruction at the hands of dark-minded people, and the cultural and artistic activities held in al-Shahba confirm that we are capable of reconstructing Syria intellectually and humanly.

SANA’s reporter met with a number of plastic artists participating in the exhibition, where the plastic artist Najla Dalati pointed out that her painting depicting the phoenix embodies the state of revival and renewal, using the expressive realistic school in joyful colors that express hope for the future despite all that has taken our country and that it will remain strong in its civilization, culture and history.

The plastic artist, Joseph Totonjian, participated in an artistic sculpture using the contemporary modernity method, expressing the state of exit from the squat, pointing to the demand for viewing the exhibition's paintings, which reflects a healthy societal state.


Young artist Basil Ahmed talked about his painting that embodies man and his contradictions, using cold oil colors, considering that exhibitions are a positive thing to learn about cultures, artistic statures, and various plastic schools.

Among the visitors to the exhibition, the young woman, Faten Al-Helou, pointed out the diversity of the displayed paintings and their closeness to reality through the modern techniques used by Talal Hawari.

Abdul Rahman Al-Najjar, a student at the College of Fine Arts, pointed out the diversity in the exhibition, which brings together a large number of art schools that are distinguished by the participating artists.
