The United States Congress will introduce a bill that seeks to avoid cosmetic products that have a high level of perfluoroalkylated and polyfluoroalkylated substances (PFAS, for its acronym in English).
The initiative arose after the publication of a study in the journal Environmental Science and Technology Letters, whose findings suggest that 52% of 231 products purchased in the United States and Canada have a high level of potentially toxic chemicals.
