A building collapsed in Barletta, about 60 kilometers north of Bari, probably due to a gas leak.
There would be some injured.
The collapse took place in via Curci, a side street of via Roma.
Firefighters, rescuers and law enforcement officers rushed to the scene.
On the spot, the rescuers first removed the tuff blocks by hand to try to save the injured, now a small bulldozer has arrived on the spot whose activity is coordinated by the firefighters. Via Giuseppe Curci is located a short distance from Via Roma where, on 3 October 2011, the collapse of a building killed four workers and a girl (daughter of the owner of the company) who were in a knitwear shop on the ground floor of the building. According to the accusatory hypothesis, the collapse was caused by the demolition of the building adjacent to the one where the knitwear was.
