The Ocean Park Conservation Fund of Hong Kong received a report today (16th) and followed up on a case of cetacean stranding. An adult female Chinese white dolphin about 198 cm in length was found in Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung. The body was severely decomposed. The Conservation Fund has brought the dolphin back to the ocean. Detailed anatomy and laboratory tests were performed in the park.
In recent months, the Conservation Fund has also reported that Chinese white dolphins have been stranded at Shek Pai Wan Beach on Lamma Island, Northwestern Seas of Soko Islands, Tong Fuk Beach on Lantau Island and Dian Sai Wan on Lantau Island. This year, the number of cetacean strandings in Hong Kong has reached 22 cases.

The Hong Kong Ocean Park Conservation Fund urges the public to call the 1823 hotline if suspected cases of whales, dolphins and sharks are stranded, and provide the time, location, and photos of the stranding, so that the action team can arrive at the scene as soon as possible to follow up.
