A Palestinian woman was killed on Wednesday in the occupied West Bank by Israeli forces, the Palestinian health ministry reported, as the army reported an attempted attack on soldiers.

The Palestinian ministry said in a short statement that it was informed of the death of a "
citizen
" after the Israeli army opened fire at her in Hizma, between Jerusalem and Ramallah. The army said it thwarted an attempted attack by an assailant in a car who then came out armed with a knife.
