- The procedure for the Bundestag election in September is in place: In its most recent meeting, the Rudelzhausen municipal council set and decided the conditions under which the election should take place in 2021.

According to this, there are a total of four ballot boxes and four postal voting districts this year.

The administration expects an increased number of postal votes in the course of the corona pandemic.

That is why those responsible pay special attention to the direct mail.

"The postal vote is gaining massively in importance," it said in a presentation of the facts.

Because the counting processes usually take longer here than for the ballot box, preparations in the postal voting pubs start at 4 p.m. on election day.

New rules on money for election workers

In contrast to the recommendation in the federal election regulations, a uniform solution was chosen for the so-called refreshment allowance for election workers. Accordingly, no distinction is made between electoral officers and electoral workers in the respective districts. According to the resolution, a flat rate of 30 euros is provided. The municipality has now also said goodbye to the practice that election workers in ballot box voting districts receive ten euros more refreshment money than in postal voting districts. Both institutions should be treated equally.

The election workers will be assigned in the summer.

To clarify, it was also stated that the refreshment money should also be paid out to the volunteer helpers who are recruited from among the community officials and other authorities.

Experience has shown that it is also local council members who work as election workers.

Often they take on the office of electoral officer.
