The national teams of Venezuela, Bolivia and Colombia have reported players and staff infected with COVID-19, according to the national soccer federations of those countries and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).

However, Conmebol reported a smaller number of total infections among equipment and service providers, telling CNN on Tuesday that only 18 have been infected with the virus so far.

When contacted by CNN, the ministry and Conmebol did not clarify the reasons for the discrepancy of the data provided by the two groups.
