China has renewed its strong opposition and condemnation of the joint statement issued by the United States and the European Union, which is considered interference in its internal affairs.
"The content of the statement goes beyond the scope of bilateral relations and is a blatant interference in China's internal affairs, deliberate slander against China and dissemination of misleading information," Xinhua news agency quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian as saying in a press statement today. They are not in a position to give lectures about other countries.
Zhao noted that China opposes any country imposing its interests and demands on other countries, forming small groups, pursuing bloc policies targeting a third party, and ideologically dividing the world.
