Erding - It is one of the attractions at the Kronthaler Weiher and has not been accessible since February: the suspension bridge.
First it was blocked because of the risk of slipping, now because of frost damage.
The suspension bridge connects the bank of the Kronthaler Weiher with an artificially created island.
At the beginning of March we reported that the bridge could not be entered due to the risk of slipping.
So it was to be read on a sign back then.
Now the ban is justified with frost damage.
As city spokesman Christian Wanninger explains when our newspaper asked, damage was discovered in the anchorage of the artificially created island, and the bridge itself is intact. In order to be able to repair the damage, “the currently fairly high water level in the Kronthaler Weiher has to sink. However, it is essentially dependent on groundwater currents, ”said Wanninger. This means that it is unclear when the work can start. That is how long the bridge remains closed.
