On Tuesday, June 15, around 5.30 p.m., a senior drove on the forest road from the Reschbergwiesen in the direction of Burgrain.
According to the police, he was on the way with a motorized hospital elevator.
For a previously unknown cause, the man came off the road to the left while driving downhill in the so-called “Scherer Jackl” curve - and sped straight down the slope in the sharp right-hand bend.

At precisely this point in time, a woman was jogging below the scene of the accident.
When she heard the impact, she became aware of the accident.
The 43-year-old Farchanter immediately tried to help and reanimate the lifeless driver.
At the same time, she alerted the rescue workers via the emergency call.
Without further ado, the emergency services arrived, including the Farchant fire brigade with 20 men, the ambulance service with two vehicles, an emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter from Murnau.
Since the accident site was difficult to access, an additional six helpers from the mountain rescue team supported the rescue measures.

But for the Garmisch-Partenkirchner, any help came too late: Ultimately, only the death of the man could be determined.
The public prosecutor's office ordered an expert report to clarify the cause of the accident.
