A 17-year-old girl in Tin Shing Court, Tin Shui Wai, was diagnosed with the new crown virus earlier with the N501Y variant virus. Her mother and elder sisters were subsequently diagnosed, but the source is still unknown.

The Centre for Health Protection said yesterday (15th) that the new crown virus was detected on the surface of a package of Thai frozen crocodile meat in the refrigerator in the patient’s home on Monday (14th). The “upstairs” issued a statement on the same night that the sample was a company product. If in doubt, return the product.

The Centre for Health Protection went to the patient’s home yesterday to collect 90 samples, most of which were food and packaging samples from the refrigerator. Today (16th) all test results were announced negative for the new crown virus.

The girl sneezed when she opened the refrigerator

The 17-year-old girl, who was infected with the mutant virus, lives in Tin Shing Court, Tin Shui Wai, and was confirmed to be diagnosed earlier this month.

After laboratory tests, the Centre for Health Protection announced yesterday that a package of Thai frozen crocodile meat was found on the surface of a package of frozen crocodile meat in her home refrigerator. The source revealed that the girl sneezed when she opened the refrigerator.

Pan Liewen, a professor at the School of Public Health of the University of Hong Kong, said in Hong Kong and Taiwan this morning that it is difficult to prove that the infection is the source of the infection with a frozen package alone, but it cannot be ruled out whether the infected person pollutes the environment.

The Centre for Health Protection announced this afternoon that another 90 samples were taken from the girl’s home yesterday, most of which were food and packaging in the refrigerator. All samples tested negative for the new crown virus.

"Upstairs" issued a statement last night acknowledging that the frozen crocodile meat sample is a company product, and customers can return it if they have any doubts.

A reporter from "Hong Kong 01" inspected the Tin Shui Wai branch as a customer this morning. There was a constant flow of people in the store. By noon, there were no customers requesting a return. Many people were still shopping for frozen food.

Some customers said that they had eaten all the crocodile meat and were not worried: "Just wash the drains. What's going on outside? Don't you need to go in!" Another customer decided to stop buying frozen goods temporarily.
