The previous chairman, Dr. Klaus Wagner and his deputy Ulla Ottmar from Stockdorf were confirmed in their offices in a secret ballot. “Queen of votes” Gertraud Gschwendtner, who has recently joined the committee, had run for the deputy post, but was just beaten.
The senior representatives have written the intergenerational dialogue on the agenda. In the introductory round, Gertraud Gschwendtner, who had achieved the best result with 1540 votes, emphasized that the coexistence of young and old is very important to her. She wants to promote sponsorships between children and senior citizens who live in the Gautinger Caritas nursing home, for example. Hans Herde wants to get accessibility, but also benches on the way. The large Sontowski construction site with the construction site-related detours for school children, pedestrians, cyclists and seniors with walkers had not been optimally solved, Herde complained. The district office is responsible there, not the community, explained Kössinger. Ute Brack nevertheless demanded that the community inform the senior citizens' council earlier in the futurewhen it comes to issues relevant to senior citizens. The re-elected Gautinger wanted “more teamwork” from chairman Wagner.

With newcomer Dr. Hans-Jürgen Bruer immediately ran into Ute Brack with the doors wide open. The seven senior citizens' councils should formulate their goals. Bruer emphasized that cooperation between young and old is also the focus for him. In the corona pandemic, “the young” had to do without a lot for a year and a half out of consideration for the elderly, added Klaus Wagner. With the current ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court on climate protection, "the social differences between young and old will increase significantly in the coming decade," predicted the lawyer and grandfather. A municipality like Gauting must therefore do more for solidarity.
