Accordingly, many road users and pedestrians cavort on Ottostraße as an important connecting road with a large number of shops.

In order to increase safety for everyone here, the Greens proposed an urban planning concept.

Among other things, parking spaces should be reduced.

Ottobrunn

- Ottostraße has to accommodate many road users and is difficult to bear at the S-Bahn crossing. The somewhat chaotic state forces you to be careful, because S-Bahn commuters, high school students, customers in the many shops and residents of Ottobrunn are crowding into the area. The Greens would have liked an urban planning concept between Karl-Stieler-Strasse and Mozartstrasse. But her application has now been rejected in the planning committee with the votes of the rest of the parliamentary groups.

In essence, it was about all road users being able to use this area equally without having to worry about their safety.

The Green Councilor Tania Campbell writes on her website.

At the same time, the idea plays a role that the value of the stay in the “secret town center”, as the Greens said, could be improved.

Municipality wants to extend bus stops

The railway plans to close the S-Bahn crossing on Ottostraße for some time, probably by 2024, due to construction work.

The level crossings in Ottobrunn should be technically upgraded by then.

The municipality would like to use the time wisely to extend the bus stop at the Bahnhofsplatz so that there is more space for buses and barrier-free access is guaranteed.

According to the Green Party, an urban design to improve the traffic situation for Ottostraße in this area would be beneficial.

Structural measures are part of the green concept.

You would like parking spaces to be eliminated.

The goal: All road users should be taken into account: that is, bus and suburban train passengers, pedestrians, cyclists and cars.

Above all, this means that the weaker road users could feel safer here.

Mayor can see no security problem here

Mayor Thomas Loderer (CSU) does not want to speak of a secret town center.

At least not in the current state.

And yes, it is close to all the shops like Penny, pharmacy, optician, shoemaker, doctors anyway.

Since it is an Ottobrunn main axis and the only development of the Hohenbrunn district of Riemerling, it would be difficult to achieve a fundamental upgrade here.

Loderer cannot see any security problem at this point.

Because a lot of traffic in the area signals: “Watch out, we have to be careful.” Together with the speed limit of 30 km / h, this leads to greater safety than on a slope with a clear view.

The cyclists could feel comfortable here, in principle, equality is already given in the relationship between bicycles and cars.

Improving the bus situation has absolute priority for the mayor and that alone is not easy to achieve.

The waiting area must allow barrier-free access, be safe and offer a certain level of comfort.

Development plan prevents redesign

A dismantling of parking spaces with reallocation to recreation zones cannot be implemented. The current development plan prevents a redesign. In this plan, a lowering of the S-Bahn has been provided for 40 years, but this has not yet been implemented. The parking spaces are needed for the expansion. Until then, however, the former owner has negotiated, they may only be used as commercial parking spaces. Even if the land on which the parking spaces are located already belongs to the municipality. Quite apart from that, Mayor Loderer is of the opinion that the parking spaces enliven the business mile at this point and do not belong away. The majority saw it similarly.
