More than 2,300 hectares increased the areas planted with summer vegetables in Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah, SANA- The Director of Agriculture in Al-Hasakah Governorate, Eng. Rajab Salameh, stated that the cultivation of summer vegetables witnessed a great turnout

The Director of Agriculture in Al-Hasakah Governorate, Engineer Rajab Salameh, stated that the cultivation of summer vegetables witnessed a good demand by farmers, with the cultivated area exceeding 8500 hectares, with an increase of 2313 hectares over the cultivated area during the last season, amounting to 6187 hectares distributed in various areas of agricultural stability.

In a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin, Salama pointed out that the governorate produces various types of summer vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, yellow and red watermelons, potatoes, zucchini, eggplant and beans, and their cultivation is concentrated in the areas and countryside of Amuda, Ad-Darbasiyah, Abu Rasin, Hasaka and Qamishli.

For his part, the Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Ignatius Ignatius, stated in a similar statement that the governorate's production of various summer vegetable crops is still in its early stages, indicating that prices will witness stability with the increase in production quantities during the current month and next month, which is mostly marketed in the governorate's markets.
