At 7 o'clock in the evening today (16th), a large number of police officers intercepted and searched a black seven-person car on Fuk Wah Street, Sham Shui Po, and arrested 3 Vietnamese men on the spot. Sources at the scene stated that the seven-person car involved was suspected of being lost and had a fake license plate. The police seized tools including reflective clothing, hoods and screwdrivers on the car.

The three arrested men are all Vietnamese. Two of them hold Hong Kong identity cards and the other holds street paper.

Sources at the scene stated that the intercepted seven-person car was suspected of being stolen and had a fake license plate. The license plate was a photocopy of another license plate number. According to a report received by the police today, the informant stated that the vehicle involved was found in Tsuen Wan with the license plate number. Owned by his friend, he called the police and followed the vehicle to Fuk Wah Street, Sham Shui Po. After parking the vehicle, the suspect alighted and went to the Golden Computer Mall for shopping.

Staff of the West Kowloon Stormtrooper laid an ambush at the scene and subdued the three men when they stepped out of the mall and got on the car.

The three arrested men are all Vietnamese. Two of them hold Hong Kong identity cards and the man responsible for driving holds street paper.

Police officers searched the seven-person vehicle and seized tools including reflective clothing, hoods and screwdrivers.

The police are investigating the background and motives of the three men, and the case is temporarily in possession of false documents.
