A 63-year-old man, living in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, was run over by a heavy truck as he was crossing the rue de Paris in Montreuil, at the Palais des Congrès, this Wednesday shortly before 3 p.m.

Despite the intervention of the emergency services, he died on the spot.

According to the first elements of the investigation, he was between two cars parked on the side of the track and began to cross the road out of a pedestrian crossing.

According to France Bleu, who revealed the information, traffic was at a standstill and suddenly restarted.

It was then that the pedestrian, who was in the driver's blind spot, was struck by the truck.

The firefighters mobilized two devices, as well as a medical team and a rescue truck.

Despite attempts at resuscitation, the victim did not survive.

Traffic was interrupted for more than two hours on this departmental axis, which goes from the Place de la Croix-de-Chavaux to the Porte de Montreuil.

Each day, more than 15,000 vehicles circulated there according to 2018 data.
