Ibrahim Saraqibi, a player of the Hama kickboxing team, managed to write his name in the list of winners of the Republic Championship in his first participation when he won the gold medal for the youth category in the weight of 75 kg in the tournament hosted by the city of Lattakia last March.

In an interview with SANA’s sports reporter in Hama, 18-year-old Ibrahim Saraqibi explained that he started playing kickboxing three years ago under the supervision of coach Basil Hosariah, who taught him its arts and principles, so he loved them passionately and persevered in their training, and participated in the following year for the first time in the Hama Championship, where he won first place His weight gave him a great moral incentive to continue the game in the hope that he would join the ranks of the national team later and participate with him in an external tournament and raise the national flag high.

Saraqibi pointed out that he grew up in a family that excels in kickboxing, as his two brothers, Sultan and Wissam, are the champions of the province in the game, which created a state of competition between them in order to continue training and stay in the forefront, especially as they train constantly in the Sports World Club, which played an important role in refining their talent greatly. Because of the presence of distinguished coaches who contributed to the graduation and preparation of about 50 players who achieved advanced positions in the governorate and republic championships.

Saraqibi indicated that kickboxing is a strong game that increases physical fitness, revitalizes the body, and maintains general health. Its practitioner needs to be smart, strong, with will and determination, committed to training on an ongoing basis, and has a great ambition to win.

And about the difficulties facing the game among Hama players, they are many, most notably the lack of a group training hall, where the training of the players practicing it is limited to private sports clubs, in addition to the lack of financial support provided to the outstanding players, and the external participation and training camps are few, although they play an important role in refining The talent of the players and the increase of their experience, calling for embracing promising talents and providing them with adequate care because they are the hope for the development of the game in Syria.

For his part, the coach of the Hama national team and head of the technical committee of the game, Basil Hosariah, indicated that the player Saraqibi excelled after a short period of starting his practice of the game because of his strong love for it and his full commitment to the training and the coach’s instructions and his great determination to win every match he plays, so I expect him to have a good future if he continues in exercise longer.
