The Institut Pasteur estimated that to abandon all barrier gestures, at least 46 million people should be vaccinated.
For the time being, just under 16 million French people have a complete vaccination schedule and 30 million are already vaccinated for the first time.
The collective immunity threshold within the population will also be crucial to avoid the risk of a rebound in the epidemic because of the Delta variant (ex-Indian variant), which has become the majority in Great Britain.
Beware of variants
There are now less than 4,000 daily contaminations in France and short-term projections are optimistic.
It is very unlikely, according to experts, to witness a rebound this summer even if the vaccine coverage is not yet sufficient to prevent possible localized recoveries.
