On June 9, the Paris prosecutor's office opened an investigation for "
public provocation not followed by the commission of attacks on the life or integrity of persons
".
The investigations were entrusted to the Brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person (BRDP).
In a video posted on June 6 on YouTube, and since withdrawn, the Youtubeur attacked the “

people who vote for the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon
”, leader of rebellious France (LFI ) and candidate for the presidential election of 2022, “

Decked out in military fatigues, the Youtubeur fired with firearms at a mannequin representing an LFI voter, then stabbed.
Excerpts from this video had been widely relayed and denounced on social networks by LFI. Jean-Luc Mélenchon had denounced a "
call for murder
" and filed a complaint. “
Papacito
”, whose real name is Ugo Gil Jimenez, defended himself with the magazine
Valeurs Today

extremely provocative
