Major environmental damage after an accident near Ismaning.
A stream has to be drained and dredged several hundred meters.
Eicherloh - Late on Tuesday afternoon, near Ismaning, in Eicherloh (Erding district), there was a serious traffic accident and, as a result, severe environmental pollution.
This was announced by the police station in Erding.
A 24-year-old Anzinger (district of Ebersberg) drove his Mercedes E-Class down the large transmitter street from Ismaning in the direction of Eicherloh.
After a left turn just before Eicherloh, the driver lost control of his car for an unexplained cause and turned right off the road.
The Mercedes overturned and remained on the roof in the adjoining stream.
Man could free himself
The Anzinger was able to get out of the car on his own, he was taken care of by first responders from the volunteer fire brigade.
An ambulance brought him, slightly injured, to the hospital in Erding.
The E-Class had to be recovered with a crane.
Oil and coolant leaked out of the vehicle, and the pollutants flowed into the stream.
The fire brigades from Eicherloh and Altenerding dammed the stream so they could prevent the pollutants from overflowing into the Goldach.
Eliminating the environmental damage costs 80,000 euros
Employees of the water management office were on site to assess the environmental damage.
The stream is to be drained today and dredged at several hundred meters.
The damage to the car amounts to around 40,000 euros.
According to initial estimates, the cost of eliminating the environmental damage is around 80,000 euros.
The police blocked the main transmitter road for around two hours.
