After months of tension, the meanwhile withdrawn ambassadors of Russia and the USA are returning to their respective locations.

"They will return to their jobs," said Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday after his summit with US President Joe Biden in Geneva.

The conversation with Biden was "constructive".

The diplomats returned to their homeland in the spring as tensions between the two countries grew.

According to information from American delegation circles, the meeting between Putin and Biden lasted three hours and 21 minutes - less than both sides had previously promised.

The Russian delegation had prepared for at least four to five hours of talks.

It was the first time the two presidents have met since Biden took office in January.

US-Russian relations are worse than they have been since the end of the Cold War because of a number of conflict issues.
