Several airlines, including Southwest, United and Virgin Australia, confirmed they were experiencing problems with their websites Wednesday night.

In a statement sent to CNN Business, Southwest said its teams worked quickly to restore systems after the outage.

The pause in connectivity did not affect the airline's flight operations, the statement read, and the company was working to determine the cause of the disruption.

Virgin Australia said in a statement: “We are currently experiencing a system outage which is affecting our website and our passenger contact center.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

United Airlines told a Twitter user: “We are experiencing technical problems and are working immediately to fix them.

We will inform you once this matter is resolved.

A Los Angeles International Airport spokesperson told CNN Business they experienced momentary outages, however there were no significant delays or cancellations.

The airport did not immediately respond to a request for comment on which websites or systems were disrupted.

The outage comes just days after Southwest Airlines was forced to suspend flights due to nationwide IT issues.

The outages also come about a week after countless websites and apps around the world went down for about an hour when Fastly, a major content distribution network, suffered a widespread failure.
