The Greensill debacle divides the CSU: Parts of the Puchheim local association and the parliamentary group seem to be moving in different directions.

Some already see the mayor's guilt clearly and have lodged a complaint, others want to wait for results first.

Puchheim

- The supervisory complaint filed by the CSU local board against Mayor Norbert Seidl (SPD) because of the likely lost Greensill investment is expressly not supported in parts of the Puchheim Union. At a meeting of the CSU city council members, he clearly distanced himself from the procedure, the third mayor Thomas Hofschuster told the daily newspaper. And with his criticism, he also knows the majority of the group behind him. The party's elected officials had not been informed of the complaint in advance.

The decision of the local board a few weeks ago had been passed unanimously.

With Thorsten Heil and Christian Olschowsky, two city council members who also belong to the local party leadership were missing from the meeting.

Heil thinks it is not very happy to turn on the legal supervision in the district office before any findings are on the table, as he told our newspaper.

Wait for report

Fractional colleague Günter Hoiß, himself a member of the city's commission of inquiry, which is tasked with clearing up the exact processes, expresses himself in a similar way: “It could have gone better. One could have waited for the report. ”The commission wants to present its results so far to the city council at its next meeting. Subsequently, the municipal auditing association and a specialist law firm should investigate how the city's financial investments were dealt with.

For the parliamentary group vice-president and local board member Dominik Schneider, however, the supervisory complaint is not a contradiction to the procedure agreed in the city council.

After all, it is not about any claims for damages, but only about possible breaches of duty by the mayor.

Also from the ranks of the members, demands have recently been made of the board of directors to become active themselves.

The main point of the criticism in a multi-page indictment for the district authority: Despite his own concerns, Seidl approved the initial investment of two million euros at the Greensill Bank and thus violated the city's clear investment guidelines.

In addition, he could at least have prevented the extension of the deposit last December.

Only the continuation of the investment led to the presumed loss of two million euros.

Hofschuster's opinion that the guidelines are anything but clear, but offer a lot of room for interpretation, is hardly shared in his group. But the view that previous convictions - in the form of a complaint from the supervisory authority - are out of place. Especially since two CSU colleagues in the commission of inquiry have tried to clarify. But he does not want to think about the consequences until such incidents should pile up. The CSU remains his political home, even if “a handful of people who gather in the local association” did not exactly strengthen the feeling of home. (Olf Paschen)
