Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania wants to make the Baltic Sea holiday a little more attractive and is now easing the test requirement.
These are the new corona rules for tourists.
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania did not open to tourists from all over Germany until June 4th - and so it was later than Schleswig-Holstein, for example, where holidays in model regions on the North and Baltic Seas had been possible for weeks.
Now the state wants to relax its corona regulations for tourists even more - which should make a trip more attractive.
Baltic Sea vacation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: relaxed testing requirement for tourists
So far, the regulation for a vacation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was such that tourists should present a negative corona test on arrival and then on every third day, unless they were vaccinated or recovered. From Thursday (June 17)
, however, the negative test result on arrival is sufficient
. The state government decided on Tuesday, as reported by the NDR, among others. According to Health Minister Harry Glawe, the new regulation applies to guests of hotels as well as permanent campers and second home owners.
All areas of the holiday accommodation can then be used
without further tests
.
Only those who want to visit the interior of a restaurant without having booked a room still need a negative test, according to Glawe.
The German Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was delighted with the decision, but President Lars Schwarz also demanded: “Next week, the general obligation to test indoor restaurants will have to drop.
With an initial vaccination rate in MV of over 50 percent and our proven hygiene concepts, this step is overdue.
With the elimination of the obligation to test, unnecessary obstacles for our guests will be removed. "
