In November of the previous year, PolyU was besieged by the police and many people gathered nearby for demonstrations. During this period, five teachers including teachers were involved in the riot in Jordan. Tsai Yun-ting, who served as a waiter, defended himself at the West Kowloon Magistracy today (17th). He wanted to go to PolyU to rescue his sister who was trapped in the school. He also revealed that because the two brothers and sisters did not support each other, his sister was very important to him, so after weighing the situation, he decided to try to save him, claiming that he had never participated in the parade, and he did not agree. The violent behavior of the demonstrators even choked up and said that if there were no such incidents, "housing and enterprises should be in order."

5 defendants: Guo Junming (23 years old, chef), Luo Weidong (31 years old, unemployed), Yao Junhui (34 years old, teacher), Ding Peiji (26 years old) and Cai Runting (24 years old, waiter) were accused in November 2019 On the 18th, they took part in the riots along Nathan Road between Gascoigne Road and Jordan Road in Jordan.

The first defendant Guo was also involved in possession of 37 plastic and electrical leads with intention to use them for illegal purposes.

The third defendant, Yao, was also involved in possession of a pair of scissors and 7 packs of rubber straps for illegal use.

My sister was trapped in PolyU crying for help

The fifth defendant Cai Runting argued that he had dropped out of form three to work to support his family and had not participated in demonstrations.

He was working at a hot pot restaurant that night and received three calls from his sister at 8 o'clock.

His 22-year-old sister was studying for an associate degree in accounting at the time of the incident, and sometimes went to school at PolyU.

He pointed out that his sister was crying for help, saying that she was trapped in the PolyU classroom with some people younger than her. The demonstrators outside the classroom were behaving abnormally, and many people clamored. She blocked the door with a chair to prevent them from entering.

Refers to my sister's words like a last word

Cai described her sister in a panic tone. She seemed to say a last word, who had always been strong, saying that the defendant must take good care of his family. He comforted his sister that he would find a way to find her.

He mentioned that his parents were divorced, and the two siblings were beaten up by his mother and her mother's boyfriend when they were young, and the two would protect each other.

They were robbed of toys by young people in the park before, and their sister would also retrieve them.

I don’t know the situation of PolyU and think there is still a chance to enter

Cai said that in order to save his sister, he did not know the details of the PolyU. He learned that some demonstrators had entered the campus and felt that there was still a chance to enter. He also pointed out that his sister was very important to him and believed that if he was in danger, his sister would also come to rescue him.

He informed his father at about 9 o'clock that his father drove Cai to the vicinity of PolyU.

A friend of Cai Huo who is enthusiastic about social movement suggested that he took gloves, first aid kits and other items and planned to enter from the slope next to the Gascoigne Road Land Tribunal to bypass the police line, but was subsequently arrested.

Think the demonstrators are violent and wrong

Cai said that he had never thought about participating in the riots, and he did not agree with demonstrators blocking roads and other behaviors.

I also don’t want the demonstrators to attack the police defense line, saying that they are violent and wrong.

He choked up and said, "If this doesn't happen, "housing and enterprises should be neat and tidy."

The case will be closed on July 3.
