The National Security Office of the police arrested five directors of Next Media Group this (17) morning on suspicion of violating Article 29 of the National Security Law on "conspiracy to collude with foreign countries or foreign forces to endanger national security". They include Next Media CEO Zhang Jianhong and Next Media Group Chief Operating Officer Zhou Daquan, "Apple Daily" vice president Chen Peimin, editor-in-chief Luo Weiguang, and Apple Mobile News Platform Director Zhang Zhiwei. Among them, Zhang Jianhong and Zhou Daquan were also accused of violating the tenancy agreement of Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate and suspected of fraud on the day the police searched the One Media Building in August last year. He was arrested for crimes, and Zhou, together with Li Zhiying and Chief Executive Officer Huang Weiqiang, were eventually charged with fraudulent charges last month and tentatively scheduled for trial next year.
Zhou Daquan was escorted out of the "Apple" building and will be taken to the police station for detention.

Zhou Daquan, together with founder Li Zhiying and administrative director Huang Weiqiang, were subsequently charged with one count of fraud. Using the premises at No. 8 Chun Ying Street, Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, and concealing the purpose from the Science and Technology Park Company, with the intent to defraud and induce the Science and Technology Park Company not to take action, resulting in the Apple Daily and or Lego Consulting Co., Ltd. receiving nearly 20 million Interest, or cause the science and technology park company to suffer disadvantages.
The case was brought to trial on the 6th of last month and is tentatively scheduled for trial from March to April next year. Zhou Daquan was allowed to report every two weeks.
