Fraunberg's citizen's office manager Georg Neumaier celebrates 40 years of service.

We talked to the jubilee about his life.

Fraunberg - “This is my place, I appreciate my colleagues, my neighborhood and the great camaraderie of our volunteer fire brigade”: Anyone like Georg Neumaier who gives such a compliment seems to like to live in the community in which he works.

In fact, he has been working here, in the Fraunberg administration, for 26 years.

But since he has been working for the public for a long time, Neumaier was able to celebrate his 40th anniversary with the company.

For this he was recently honored by town hall chief Hans Wiesmaier before the town council meeting.

"I could talk about Georg, the head of our citizens' office, for a whole evening": This is how the mayor described the many activities and successes of his loyal employee and presented him with a certificate of thanks, a community plate and a shopping voucher.

Georg Neumaier was born 58 years ago in the neighboring municipality of Wartenberg, but has always lived in Fraunberg.

After school, at the age of 15, the young man first went to the post office in Erding, where he trained as a delivery driver.

“In the district town, but also in the district, I worked as a so-called jumper until the end of 1994, got around a lot and got to know a lot of people,” he remembers that time.

But at the beginning of 1995 he was attracted to the town hall in Fraunberg, where he started out as a lateral entry-level worker in the role of an administrative employee.

He has stayed in this position to this day because he likes his work.

“It is very versatile: I work in the registration and registry office, am responsible for pension matters and as a system administrator for the IT in the community center.

I also take care of the building technology here, ”says Neumaier.

But he is also quite active outside the town hall, belongs to the local church administration and is a group leader in the fire brigade.

"Here, too, I've been with us for over 40 years, mainly working on respiratory protection," he says.

In his free time, the father of two grown sons has enough to do with the house and the yard, in other words a large piece of land. He gets a lot of support from son Andreas, who also lives there. His younger brother Dominik is married in Wartenberg.

Neumaier is also an avid athlete, enjoys skiing and mountain biking. After all, he won the runner-up title in the senior class in this discipline at the Bavarian championships in 2004, and in winter he teaches courses for children at the Wall Skiclub. “Actually,” says the versatile talent, “I could already celebrate 43 years in public service functions, because my time at Post is one of them. But there is another number that is even more interesting: I can retire in seven years, ”he jokes. Anyone who knows him can well imagine that he will by no means see his years afterwards as retirement.
