Thunderstorms continue to cross the country.
24 hours after a massive orange vigilance which concerned 25 departments on Wednesday, going from the Channel to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, it is a similar alert that Météo France still emits this Thursday morning.
However, this time it affects a little less departments, 18, mainly concentrated in the southwest of the country: Deux-Sèvres, Vienne, Haute-Vienne, Charente-Maritime, Charente, Gironde , Dordogne, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, Lot, Corrèze, Gers, Tarn-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Haute-Garonne and Ariège.
Regarding the heat wave, only the Rhône department is currently placed on orange vigilance.

Same cause, same effect, after the strong heat of the last few days, it is therefore the thunderstorms, sometimes violent, which will therefore appear in the afternoon.
The forecaster mentions indeed "very strong accumulations of rain (of the order of 50 to 80 mm in three hours)", as well as "hail, strong gusts of wind and sustained electrical activity".
The lull will only occur in the middle of the night from Thursday to Friday in these areas.
Ile-de-France could also switch to orange vigilance
Météo France also draws attention to other sectors of the country, since the possibility of strong thunderstorms in the north, "with occasional hail, strong gusts of wind and high intensities of precipitation" is very present. Thus, in the Center, Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Grand-Est, currently placed on yellow level vigilance, could switch to a higher alert level during the day.
