The Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services Pang Yiu-hsiung said today (17th) that the line had undergone three comprehensive tests before it was fully opened to traffic, and it is believed that it can be opened to traffic smoothly.
He also said that the full opening of the Tuen Ma Line is regarded as a "big challenge" and that it will be opened to traffic only after ensuring its safety.

The Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services Pang Yaoxiong said at a media gathering that the full opening of the Tuen Ma Line was regarded as a "big challenge".
He said that the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will ensure safety and good conditions before allowing traffic to open. There is an inter-departmental team to assess the safety of the project, including the Transport Department, Highways Department and other government departments.
He also said that three final tests have been conducted before the opening of the Tuen Ma Line, and it is believed that it can be opened smoothly.
Peng Yaoxiong also pointed out that in response to restaurant ventilation requirements during the epidemic, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has set up a working group, and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department has also sent personnel to serve as observers in the group.
After reviewing the information on air filters provided by the industry, the group made a list for the industry to purchase to meet the ventilation requirements.
He said that if the air circulation in the restaurant is insufficient, there is usually a fan in the ventilation system, which can be improved by changing its size.
