Two people were killed in a shooting that took place in the center of the town of Espelkamp in western Germany today.
The German newspaper Bild quoted police as saying that "a gunman opened fire in the town of 20,000 people in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, killing two people."
The police added that the attacker fled and that a team of special police commandos rushed to the scene, without giving further details about the incident.
