Corona situation is easing: This has consequences for the test centers

Not long ago there could not be enough test sites in the district, now they are rarely visited.

The opening times will therefore be shortened.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - It was not long ago that new stations for corona tests sprang up like mushrooms.

Anyone who went shopping or wanted to go to the beer garden needed an up-to-date, negative rapid test result.

That created a lot of demand and long queues.

The rush in the test centers was also great during the Whitsun holidays.

A good week later, the situation is completely different again.

A pioneer in terms of citizen tests in the district was a private initiative in Wolfratshausen.

Volunteers around Ines Lobenstein and her husband Peter, the Isar-Loisach Cultural Association and the DLRG Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen set up a rapid test station at Schwankl-Eck almost overnight.

The demand continued to grow.

The offer has been expanded.

The DLRG is now responsible for three rapid test stations.

At the Schwankl-Eck, at the Loisachhalle and in the Loisachpassage, around 8,500 swabs have now been taken.

"It's not so busy anymore"

With a falling seven-day incidence in the district, however, test evidence is only required in rare cases; this is noticeable in the test centers. “It's not that busy anymore,” says DLRG chairman Robert Klingel. Many would still come because they want to go abroad, their children were in quarantine or because they just wanted to be safe. Bell: "But there are very few."

As a consequence, the DLRG is reducing the opening times from Sunday.

But "we will not close and dissolve," emphasizes Klingel.

All those involved are still working alternately in order to stay in practice.

"If the incidence develops unfavorably, tests are necessary again, for example at larger events such as the Wolfratshauser River Festival," said Klingel.

If the worst comes to the worst, you want to cover that.

And finally, nobody knows what the situation will be like in autumn.

Test center Geretsried goes online

The situation is similar in Geretsried. At the moment, 60 to 100 people a day come to the BRK test center and the district on Sudetenstrasse, reports BRK division manager Philippe Goller. For comparison: at the beginning of the Whitsun holidays there were sometimes more than 350. Since the end of March, around 11,500 swabs have been made in the future Aldi branch. The BRK extended the opening times during weddings. Now the testers shift down a gear. At lunchtime and in the evening they are there an hour less. In addition, a change is currently underway so that appointments can be booked online in advance and the BRK can use its capacities more efficiently. “At the same time, the tests will still be possible without an appointment and with a paper printout,” explains Goller.

The numbers are also falling in the test station in the Gustavo Gusto sales house on Böhmerwaldstrasse, which is operated by the Wolfratshausen start-up company excura UG.

On average, there are now 80 to 100 tests per day, said Patricia Franzius, press spokeswoman for frozen pizza manufacturer Franco Fresco, when asked.

The opening times are still unchanged.

A Sunday offer was only recently created.

"It is gratefully accepted," said Franzius.

Closing the test station is currently not discussed

Closing the test station is currently not being discussed, said the company spokeswoman.

In view of the dynamic events, however, a weekly reassessment is made.

Franzius: "We will keep our offer up as long as the current test regulation is still valid and there is demand."

In contrast, the test station in the Landhotel Klostermaier in Icking is no longer available.

It was set up by the volunteer fire brigade and the BRK.

“We recently had relatively few tests,” says BRK division manager Goller.

However, the station is only on standby.

"The material stays there, we can start again immediately."
