How did the district develop between 2009 and 2019.

We have collected a lot of interesting data.

How will the pandemic change them?

Erding - Until the outbreak of the corona pandemic, the Erding district was an economic miracle - more residents, more jobs, growing gross domestic product and falling unemployment.

In order to be able to measure how great the damage is that the virus has caused since spring 2020, the planning association for the outer economic area of Munich has now published data up to 2019.

The observation period goes back ten years.

According to the State Statistical Office, a little over 138,000 people lived in the Erding district at the end of 2019. In 2009 there were still 126,000. However, forecasts assume up to 151,000 district citizens in the next 20 years. A similarly strong growth of 7.5 percent and more is predicted for the districts of Pfaffenhofen, Dachau, Munich, Ebersberg and Landshut, but not Freising (2.5 to 7.5%).

In percentage terms, the municipality of Eitting showed the greatest increase in population, which has grown by a fifth (20.7%) to 2880 inhabitants. It was followed by Oberding (19.3% / 6392) and Kirchberg (17.7% / 1069). Only the municipality of Wörth has shrunk (-1.7% / 4413). In terms of numbers, the city of Erding (+ 2027), Taufkirchen (+ 1328) and Oberding (+ 1039) grew the most. However, the growth has slowed significantly recently. It was highest in 2013 (+1700). Most recently it was around 500 and 400 - and the trend is downward. And that with an almost unchanged balance of births and deaths.

There was particularly much movement in Oberding, where 22.9 percent of the population moved in or away within ten years, followed by Eitting (19.3%) and Wartenberg (17.9%), all of which are in close proximity to the airport.

For comparison: In Steinkirchen and Hohenpolding the fluctuation was only 9.7 and 9.5 percent, respectively.

Even if the age structure is comparable across all municipalities, there are differences.

Isen, Fraunberg and Walpertskirchen had the highest proportion of children and adolescents compared to the 18 to 64 year olds with 30.6, 30.1 and 29.9 percent.

On the other hand, the share of people over 65 in the working age population is highest in Dorfen (30.6%), Isen (29.7%) and Taufkirchen (29.6%).

More and more people also mean that more and more living space is required.

In relation to 1000 inhabitants, most of the apartments were built in Eitting in 2019 - 19.1% / 55 units.

It is followed by Berglern (16.4% / 49) and Taufkirchen (12.7% / 131).

For comparison: In the city of Erding there were 211 units, which corresponds to 6.0 percent per 1000 inhabitants.

In the entire district, 877 apartments were completed in 2019.

Growth regions consume more space.

In the past ten years, according to calculations by statisticians, a good 1700 hectares have been sealed for settlement and traffic areas in the Erdinger Land with a total area of just over 87,000 hectares.

In 2019 it was 9,192 hectares, ten years later 10,875. That means: 12.5 percent of the district consists of settlement and traffic areas.

The vegetation remains 86.0 percent, the water 1.3 percent.

The share of settlement and traffic areas is highest in the city of Erding (27.3%), followed by Oberding (21.7%) and Wartenberg (15.8%).

At the other end of the table are Buch am Buchrain (6.4%), Kirchberg (7.5%) and Kirchberg (7.7%).

The economic strength of a region is measured by the development of jobs.

In 2009 there were just under 50,000 employees subject to social security contributions in the district.

Ten years later there were already over 61,000. In Oberding alone, 8,786 jobs were added during this period, an increase of 250 percent.

In the city of Erding it was “only” 3133, still second in the district.

During this period, the gross domestic product rose from 2.8 to 4.2 billion euros, and the average per capita income rose from 20,500 to 25,000 euros per year.

Traffic is also increasing steadily.

In 2009 there were 716 vehicles for every 1000 inhabitants, ten years later the figure was 830. 21,000 people commute to work, in the opposite direction there are over 38,000 citizens.
